bubble levels
Carpenter's alignment tools
A bubble level is a tool for determining whether a surface is perfectly horizontal or vertical.
It contains a curved glass tube filled with liquid and an air bubble; when the bubble rests between two marked lines, the surface is level.
Carpenters, masons, and DIY enthusiasts use them constantly: Check with the bubble level before you mount that shelf.
