browser toolbar
Web interface bar
A browser toolbar is a strip of icons and controls displayed in a web browser, typically below the address bar, providing quick access to browser functions or third-party features.
Toolbars may include navigation buttons, bookmarks, or search boxes.
In the early 2000s, third-party toolbars proliferated—often bundled with other software—cluttering browsers and sometimes tracking user behavior.
Modern browsers have largely moved away from installable toolbars in favor of extensions.
