box fan
Squared-off air mover
A box fan is a portable electric fan housed in a square frame, typically designed to sit on the floor or in a window.
The boxy shape distinguishes it from oscillating pedestal fans or ceiling fans.
Box fans are valued for their simplicity and airflow: We put a box fan in the window to cool down the bedroom.
