bowel cramps
Gut muscle contractions
Bowel cramps are sharp, spasmodic pains in the intestines, typically accompanying digestive disturbances like diarrhea, constipation, or food poisoning.
The pain comes in waves as intestinal muscles contract: I was doubled over with bowel cramps all night.
Sometimes called stomach cramps, though the sensation is lower in the abdomen.
