blob fish
Saggy ocean dweller
A blobfish is a deep-sea fish native to waters off Australia and New Zealand.
At extreme depths, it looks like an ordinary fish, but when brought to the surface, the lack of pressure causes its gelatinous body to expand into a droopy, sad-faced mass.
This unfortunate appearance made it an internet meme and won it the title of "world's ugliest animal." Usually spelled as one word: blobfish.
