better place
Where souls rest
A better place is a euphemism for heaven or an afterlife, used when speaking of someone who has died: She's in a better place now.
The phrase softens the finality of death by suggesting the deceased has moved on to somewhere more peaceful or happy than earthly life.
Outside this context, better place simply means an improved location or situation: The company is in a better place financially than it was last year.
