bear rugs
Cabin floor coverings
A bear rug is a decorative floor covering or wall hanging made from the preserved hide of a bear, typically with the head still attached.
Once a staple of hunting lodges and rustic cabins, bear rugs now evoke a dated masculine aesthetic: a roaring fire and a bear rug.
The phrase bearskin rug carries romantic or seductive connotations, as in the cliché of lying before a fireplace.
