bcc'ing
Hidden recipient adding
Bcc'ing is sending someone a blind carbon copy of an email—including them as a recipient without other recipients knowing.
The bcc'd person sees the message but remains invisible to everyone else on the thread: I'm bcc'ing my lawyer on this.
Often used to keep someone informed discreetly or to protect recipients' email addresses when sending to large groups.
