ban hammers
Online exile tools
Ban hammers are the metaphorical tools wielded by moderators or administrators to ban users from online communities, forums, or games.
The term playfully imagines moderation powers as a physical weapon brought down on rule-breakers.
Someone who wields the ban hammer has the authority to remove or suspend users: The mods are swinging the ban hammer tonight after all that spam.
The image suggests swift, decisive action against troublemakers.
