backup failure
Safety net fails
Backup failure is the unsuccessful completion of a data backup process—when files meant to be copied for safekeeping aren't properly saved.
Causes include insufficient storage space, corrupted media, network interruptions, or software errors.
The term also applies when a backup exists but proves unusable during restoration: We discovered the backup failure only when we tried to recover the files.
