autotransplants
Tissue from oneself
Autotransplants are tissues or organs surgically removed from one part of a person's body and grafted to another part of the same person.
Skin autotransplants cover burn wounds; bone autotransplants repair skeletal damage.
Because the tissue comes from the patient's own body, there's no risk of immune rejection.
Also called autografts.
