autorenewal
Automatic membership extension
Autorenewal is the automatic renewal of a subscription, membership, or contract without requiring action from the customer.
The practice keeps services running seamlessly but draws criticism when companies make cancellation difficult: I forgot to turn off autorenewal and got charged for another year.
Also spelled auto-renewal.
