Autograph albums are small blank books designed for collecting signatures and short inscriptions from friends, classmates, or acquaintances.
Popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries, they were passed among social circles for people to sign and add personal messages, verses, or drawings: She kept her grandmother's autograph album from finishing school.
The term now also applies to books for collecting celebrity signatures.
