art residency
Artist's working fellowship
An art residency is a program that provides artists with dedicated time, space, and often funding to focus on their creative work away from everyday obligations.
Residencies typically last from a few weeks to several months and may be hosted by institutions, foundations, or cultural organizations in locations ranging from rural retreats to urban studios.
Artists apply competitively and often receive housing, workspace, and sometimes stipends.
She spent three months at an art residency in New Mexico developing her sculpture series.
