appeal to

Draw toward oneself

Appeal to means to make a request or plea directed at someone, often for help, mercy, or a decision: She appealed to the board for reconsideration.

It also means to be attractive or interesting to someone: The idea doesn't appeal to me.

In law, to appeal to a higher court is to seek review of a lower court's decision.
