aisle runner

Ceremonial path covering

An aisle runner is a long, narrow strip of fabric or paper rolled out to cover the center aisle at a wedding ceremony.

Typically white or ivory, it creates a decorative path for the bride's procession: The flower girl scattered petals along the aisle runner.

Some venues prohibit them as tripping hazards.
