aerify
Turn to gas
To aerify is to infuse with air or gas, or to expose to air circulation.
The word appears most often in lawn care, where aerifying means perforating soil to allow air, water, and nutrients to reach grass roots: We aerify the lawn every spring.
A more technical variant of aerate.
