Valley of the Queens
Egyptian royal cemetery
The Valley of the Queens is an ancient Egyptian burial site near Luxor, on the west bank of the Nile.
It contains tombs of queens, princesses, and other royal family members from the New Kingdom period, roughly 1550–1070 BCE.
The site complements the nearby Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were entombed.
The tomb of Nefertari, wife of Ramesses II, is its most famous.
