Treasure Planet

Galactic sci-fi voyage

Treasure Planet is a 2002 Disney animated film that reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson's *Treasure Island* in a science-fiction setting, with spaceships and alien worlds replacing sailing vessels and tropical seas.

The film blends traditional hand-drawn animation with computer-generated imagery.

Despite its visual ambition, it underperformed commercially and is sometimes cited as a turning point in Disney's shift away from 2D animation.
