Tam o' Shanter
Woolen Scottish bonnet
A tam o' shanter is a traditional Scottish cap—round, flat, and woolen, with a pompom or tassel on top.
Named after the hero of Robert Burns's 1790 poem, it became associated with Scottish identity and is often worn with Highland dress.
Commonly shortened to tam: She pulled her tam down over her ears.
