South Asian cuisine

Subcontinental culinary tradition

South Asian cuisine encompasses the diverse food traditions of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and neighboring countries.

These cuisines share common elements like rice and flatbreads as staples, extensive use of spices such as cumin, turmeric, coriander, and chili, and techniques like slow-cooking curries and tandoor oven roasting.

Regional variations are vast, from the rich, cream-based dishes of northern India to the coconut-inflected cooking of the south.

We ordered samosas and biryani from the South Asian place downtown.
