Seville orange

Bitter citrus variety

A Seville orange is a bitter variety of orange used primarily for making marmalade rather than eating fresh.

The thick, rough rind and tart flesh make it ideal for preserves and cooking: Traditional British marmalade calls for Seville oranges.

Also called bitter orange or sour orange.
