Quan Yin
Buddhist mercy goddess
Quan Yin is the Chinese name for the bodhisattva of compassion, widely venerated in East Asian Buddhism.
She is depicted as a serene female figure, often holding a vase of pure water or a willow branch.
Worshippers pray to her for mercy, healing, and protection.
The name translates roughly as "one who perceives the sounds of the world"—that is, who hears the cries of those who suffer.
