Predator drones
Remote military aircraft
Predator drones are unmanned military aircraft used for surveillance and targeted strikes, operated remotely by pilots thousands of miles away.
The MQ-1 Predator became synonymous with U.S. counterterrorism operations in the 2000s and 2010s, particularly in Pakistan, Yemen, and Afghanistan.
The term often appears in discussions of drone warfare ethics and civilian casualties: Predator drone strikes have killed senior militants and wedding parties alike.
