Negishi coupling
Organozinc cross-coupling reaction
Negishi coupling is a chemical reaction that joins two carbon atoms using a palladium or nickel catalyst and an organozinc compound.
Named for chemist Ei-ichi Negishi, who shared the 2010 Nobel Prize for this work, the reaction is widely used in pharmaceutical synthesis and materials science to build complex organic molecules with precise control over which carbons connect.
