Modern Times
The present age
Modern Times is Charlie Chaplin's 1936 film depicting his Little Tramp character struggling against industrialization and mechanized factory work.
The film is celebrated for its satirical take on modernity, automation, and labor conditions during the Great Depression: Modern Times was one of the last silent films made in Hollywood. (Lowercase modern times refers to the contemporary era generally.)
