Midas

Legendary golden touch

Midas was a king in Greek mythology granted a wish by the god Dionysus—everything he touched would turn to gold.

The gift became a curse when his food, drink, and daughter transformed at his touch.

A Midas touch now means an ability to make money or succeed at whatever one attempts: Everything she invests in turns to gold—she has the Midas touch.
