MS Paint
Windows drawing program
MS Paint is a simple graphics editing program bundled with Microsoft Windows since 1985.
Its basic tools—pencil, brush, fill bucket, spray can—made it the introduction to digital drawing for generations of computer users.
The program's crude aesthetic became nostalgic and ironic: I made this in MS Paint often accompanies intentionally rough artwork.
Despite its limitations, skilled users have produced surprisingly detailed work, and "MS Paint art" emerged as its own genre.
