MRI imaging
Magnetic body scan
MRI imaging is a redundancy—the I in MRI already stands for imaging (magnetic resonance imaging).
Nevertheless, the phrase is common in casual speech and even medical settings: The doctor ordered MRI imaging of my knee.
The technology uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed pictures of internal body structures without radiation.
