Louvre Pyramid
Glass museum gateway
The Louvre Pyramid is a large glass and metal pyramid structure serving as the main entrance to the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Designed by architect I.
M.
Pei and completed in 1989, it was controversial when unveiled but has become an iconic landmark.
The modern geometric form contrasts deliberately with the surrounding classical architecture: The Louvre Pyramid glowed at dusk.
