Louis Daguerre
Early photography inventor
Louis Daguerre was a French artist and inventor who developed the daguerreotype, the first commercially practical photographic process, announced in 1839.
His method produced detailed images on silver-plated copper, launching photography as a medium.
The process bears his name, though he built on earlier work by Nicéphore Niépce.
