Kiss Me Kate
Taming adaptation onstage
Kiss Me Kate is a 1948 musical by Cole Porter, based on Shakespeare's *The Taming of the Shrew*.
The show uses a play-within-a-play structure, following a divorced couple starring in a production of the Shakespeare comedy while their offstage conflicts mirror the onstage action.
