Jewish conversion
Becoming a Jew
Jewish conversion is the process by which a non-Jew becomes Jewish, typically involving study, ritual immersion (mikveh), and for men, circumcision.
Requirements vary significantly across denominations—Orthodox conversions demand years of study and strict observance, while Reform conversions may be less rigorous.
The question of which conversions other denominations recognize remains contentious: Her Conservative conversion wasn't accepted in Israel.
