Italian painters
Florentine fresco creators
Artists from Italy who create paintings, or paintings in the Italian tradition.
Italy's central role in Western art history—from Renaissance masters through Baroque and beyond—makes the phrase carry particular weight: The museum's collection of Italian painters includes works by Caravaggio and Titian.
Often implies Old Masters rather than contemporary artists.
