IBAN
Cross-border account code
IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number, a standardized format for identifying bank accounts across national borders.
The system originated in Europe and is now used in over 80 countries to facilitate international transfers: I'll need your IBAN to wire the payment.
An IBAN can be up to 34 characters, combining a country code, check digits, and the domestic account number.
