Groucho glasses
Fake nose glasses
Groucho glasses are a novelty disguise consisting of oversized eyeglass frames with a large plastic nose and bushy eyebrows attached, often with a fake mustache.
Named after comedian Groucho Marx, whose distinctive look they caricature, they serve as an instant comic disguise: He put on Groucho glasses and pretended not to recognize us.
The disguise is so ineffective it has become shorthand for transparent deception.
