Good Morning Vietnam

Military broadcast comedy

Good Morning, Vietnam is a catchphrase from the 1987 film of the same name, where Robin Williams plays a military radio DJ in Saigon during the Vietnam War.

The exuberant greeting—shouted with manic energy—has become shorthand for irreverent enthusiasm in grim circumstances, or simply a theatrical way to announce one's arrival: He burst into the office with a "Good morning, Vietnam!" The phrase often signals chaotic energy or dark humor.
