Gohan
Japanese steamed staple
Gohan is the Japanese word for cooked rice, and by extension, a meal—rice being so central to Japanese cuisine that the words overlap.
In Western usage, Gohan is primarily known as a character from the anime and manga series *Dragon Ball Z*, the half-Saiyan son of protagonist Goku.
The name's literal meaning reflects the character's gentle nature in contrast to his warrior heritage.
