Gallic Wars

The Gallic Wars were a series of military campaigns (58–50 BCE) in which Julius Caesar conquered the territories of Gaul, roughly modern France and Belgium.
Caesar's own account, *Commentarii de Bello Gallico*, remains a primary historical source and a staple of Latin instruction: We translated passages from the Gallic Wars in second-year Latin.
