A GPS navigator is a device that uses Global Positioning System satellites to determine location and provide directions.
Standalone units were once common in vehicles, but smartphones have largely replaced them.
The term also applies to navigation apps: I plugged the address into my GPS navigator.
Often shortened to just GPS or navigator.
