Non-native English students
ESL learners are people studying English as a second language—non-native speakers working to acquire English alongside or after their first language.
The term appears constantly in educational contexts: materials designed for ESL learners, ESL learners often struggle with articles.
Sometimes shortened to just ESL students or ELLs (English language learners).
