Depression glass

Collectible colored glassware

Depression glass is inexpensive, mass-produced glassware manufactured in the United States during the Great Depression, roughly 1929 to 1939.

Typically made in translucent colors—pink, green, amber, blue—it was given away as promotional items at gas stations, movie theaters, and in cereal boxes.

Originally worthless, Depression glass has become collectible: She found a complete set of pink Depression glass at an estate sale.
