DNR orders
No revival requests
DNR orders are medical directives instructing healthcare providers not to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation if a patient's heart stops or they stop breathing.
DNR stands for "do not resuscitate." These orders reflect a patient's wish to avoid aggressive intervention at the end of life, allowing natural death: The hospice patient had a DNR order in place.
Also called DNAR (do not attempt resuscitation) or AND (allow natural death).
