Christian Brothers refers to members of Catholic religious institutes devoted to education, most notably the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (founded 1680) and the Congregation of Christian Brothers (founded 1802).
Brothers take religious vows but are not ordained priests.
Christian Brothers is also a brand of brandy, originally produced by the former group to fund their schools.
