Carl Linnaeus
Carl Linnaeus was an eighteenth-century Swedish naturalist who created the system of biological classification still used today.
His binomial nomenclature gives every species two Latin names—genus and species—like *Homo sapiens* for humans.
The Linnaean system organizes all living things into ranked categories: kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species.
Linnaeus would have classified that.
