Capitol steps
Congress building entrance
The steps of a capitol building, especially the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.
These prominent stone stairs serve as a backdrop for political ceremonies, press conferences, and protests: Senators gathered on the Capitol steps to address reporters.
The phrase often evokes the symbolic heart of American legislative power.
