California coastline

Golden State shore

The California coastline is the approximately 840-mile stretch of Pacific Ocean shore running along the western edge of California, from the Oregon border to Mexico.

It encompasses beaches, cliffs, bays, and harbors—from the rugged Big Sur coast to the beaches of Southern California.

The term often evokes scenic imagery in tourism and real estate: We drove the California coastline on Highway 1.
