Bridget Jones's Diary

Bridget Jones's Diary is a 1996 comic novel by Helen Fielding, written as the diary of a thirty-something single woman in London navigating weight, alcohol units, cigarettes, and romantic prospects.

The book spawned sequels and film adaptations.

The title has become shorthand for a certain type of self-deprecating, list-making feminine introspection: Her New Year's resolutions read like something out of Bridget Jones's Diary.
