Barry Sanders

Barry Sanders is an American football player widely considered one of the greatest running backs in NFL history.

He played his entire professional career (1989–1998) for the Detroit Lions, winning the 1997 MVP award and retiring abruptly at age thirty while still in his prime.

His elusive running style—sharp cuts, sudden stops, and improvised direction changes—made him nearly impossible to tackle: He pulled a Barry Sanders and made three defenders miss.
