BB-8
BB-8 is a droid character from the Star Wars franchise, introduced in *The Force Awakens* (2015).
The astromech droid has a spherical body with a domed head that appears to float on top, rolling rather than walking.
BB-8 communicates through beeps and chirps, continuing the tradition of R2-D2.
The name is sometimes used for any ball-shaped robot: The new robot vacuum looks like a BB-8.
